messenger plus sounds not working?

i was wondering, is anyone else having a problem with messenger 2009 and messenger plus, for some reason, a friend and me would send sounds, and it would give the id, but the sounds wouldn't play... we haven't tried in a few weeks, this was when we both updated to the newest messenger... and i was wondering if anyone else had that problem..

note i'm using messenger 14 and so is she...
